The Inner Mongolia Public Resources Trading Platform released a winning bid announcement on September 30 for the Chayou Qianqi 500 MW wind-solar experiment and demonstration project. Lot 4 of the four-lot energy storage system equipment procurement, designated for sodium-ion battery electrochemical energy storage, was won by Huayang Group (Yangquan) New Energy Sales Co., Ltd. at a bid amount of 11,175,135 yuan. The tenderer was Chahar Right Front Banner Mengeng New Energy Co., Ltd., the bidding agent was Huaneng Tendering Co., Ltd., and the supervising authority is the Wulanchabu Municipal Development and Reform Commission. According to the announcement, the delivery period for this lot began on September 5, 2026, with all equipment to be delivered before September 30, subject to the purchaser's instructions. In early September, after three rounds of bidding, the lot published its candidate announcement with Huayang Group as the first-ranked candidate; the final result is consistent with that candidate announcement. By the time of the announcement, the contracted delivery period had expired.
Huayang Group, based in Shanxi, has built a sodium-ion battery industrial chain leveraging its anthracite coal resources, covering hard carbon anode materials, cells and applications such as mine emergency power supplies, which have been deployed across its coal mines. The Chayou Qianqi project is a wind-solar experiment and demonstration base whose storage equipment procurement is divided into four lots, with Lot 4 designated for sodium-ion battery storage. The announced amount reflects the equipment procurement contract; actual execution and grid-connected operation are subject to subsequent disclosure by the project owner.
