On September 4, the official website of the Neijiang Economic and Technological Development Zone reported that at the Haisida Naxing 6 GWh/year sodium-ion battery production base, located at the intersection of Anmin Street and Hanxing Road in the zone, workers are stepping up final site works and equipment commissioning. Per the latest construction schedule, the project is expected to start production in late October. With a total investment of 2 billion yuan, the project focuses on intelligent production lines for large cylindrical and extra-large prismatic sodium-ion cells, targeting starter batteries for fuel and new energy vehicles and large industrial energy storage.
As for company and regional background, Haisida Naxing is one of China's earliest companies focused on sodium-ion battery R&D, manufacturing and application development. According to the development zone's official website, it ranked No. 2 globally in sodium-ion battery shipments in 2025, adheres to the NFPP polyanion technology route backed by the group's 30 years of R&D, continues to work on high energy density and long cycle life, and its products have been recognized by some leading customers.
"late October production" is a milestone disclosed by the park's official website; starting production is not reaching full capacity, and yield ramp remains to be observed.
