On August 29, Shengyang (Shandong Sacred Sun Power Sources Co., Ltd., 002580.SZ) disclosed its 2026 semi-annual report. In the MD&A section, the company cited ICC (Xinluo Information) data on the sodium-ion battery industry: China's sodium-ion battery output reached 2.45GWh in H1 2026, up 16% year-on-year; the polyanionic technology route further consolidated its dominant position with about 84% of output; with continuous cell performance iteration and maturing upstream cathode/anode/electrolyte systems, scaled production benefits are emerging and commercial delivery capability is steadily improving. ICC forecasts China's full-year 2026 sodium-ion output could reach 7GWh, with energy storage accounting for about 40% of downstream demand - currently the largest commercial application field.
Shengyang's main businesses are lead-acid batteries and lithium batteries (mainly data center backup power); sodium-ion is a reserve direction. Interactive information disclosed alongside the report shows its sodium-ion battery products have passed third-party testing and entered market-based demonstration validation in specific application scenarios, while it also conducts solid-state battery materials research. The company's risk warnings clearly state that 'liquid-cooled storage systems, solid-state batteries and sodium-ion batteries have not yet generated revenue and involve uncertainty'.
