On August 28, Zhejiang published filings for three new grid-side independent energy storage projects totaling 350MW/1100MWh. According to Tonghuashun Finance's compilation, the three projects are: CGN Huihai's 200MW/800MWh storage station project in Lishui Economic and Technological Development Zone (total investment CNY 1.015 billion, about CNY 1.269/Wh, with CGN's Zhonghe Huieng holding 60% and CNOOC (Hainan) New Energy holding 40%); Zhejiang Huzhou Hongcheng Power Supply's 100MW/200MWh electrochemical storage project (located in Shanlian Town, Nanxun District, Huzhou, planning an all-sodium battery storage system with a new 110kV step-up substation, 80 units of 2.56MWh sodium-ion storage systems, 20 units of 5MW PCS boost integrated machines and one EMS system, total investment CNY 185.9921 million, about CNY 0.93/Wh); and Zhejiang Datang Lishui Liandu's 50MW/100MWh grid-side storage project (LFP chemistry, total investment CNY 107.043 million).
The most sodium-relevant item in this batch is Huzhou Hongcheng's 100MW/200MWh project - one of the few publicly disclosed hundred-MW-scale all-sodium battery grid-side independent storage systems in Zhejiang, marking sodium-ion storage extending from C&I user-side demonstrations toward grid-scale applications. From an industrial chain perspective, the project uses 80 units of 2.56MWh sodium-ion storage systems, a spec level in line with current mainstream sodium storage products (such as CATL's 30MWh TENER Sodium integrated system or HiNa Battery's large-format cells); its CNY 0.93/Wh investment unit price is higher than peer LFP projects (Lishui 200MW/800MWh at about CNY 1.269/Wh and Liandu 50MW/100MWh at about CNY 1.07/Wh in the same batch), confirming that sodium system costs remain above lithium but have entered the mass-procurement range.
