On August 25, Science and Technology Daily published a regional industry report titled 'A Battery Driving an Industrial City'. In the report, Zhou Zhiyong, Chairman of Namei New Energy Technology (Luoyang) Co., Ltd. ('Namei Technology'), said the company has completed a full-chain commercialization path of 'cell-system-terminal project', and its sodium-ion battery products have secured overseas orders from Bulgaria and France, with 70 patents providing intellectual property protection for product exports. The report also noted that Namei Technology chose a differentiated technology route, independently developing nano-carbon cathode materials and proprietary low-temperature electrolytes, enabling stable operation of its battery products in -40°C extreme cold and passing the winter standard testing in Heihe, Heilongjiang.
Namei Technology is one of the earlier companies to achieve volume production in China's sodium-ion battery sector, with a product matrix covering SR33140 and SR60145 cylindrical cells and SR71173 prismatic cells, focusing on a 'low-temperature + fast-charging' differentiated route. In terms of capacity, the company has formed a multi-base layout: a 1.5 GWh sodium-ion battery capacity at its Luoyang base, a 1.5 GWh project at its Bazhong base in Sichuan in the equipment installation and commissioning stage with production planned for mid-September (per company disclosure on August 18), and a planned 1 GWh cell line and 2 GWh power system integration base in Qitai County, Xinjiang. In terms of hand orders, the company has previously disclosed signed orders with Wan Yang Group, XJ Electric, CarCool, Dongxin Electric, Shanshan Energy, Tongji Electric Power and others, with cumulative hand orders of RMB 890 million (company disclosure).
