On August 24, the Linze County People's Government portal of Gansu Province published an industrial update titled 'Linze: Busy Production, Strong Orders, Industrial Enterprises Running at Full Speed'. The article reports that East (Zhangye) Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd.'s automated sodium-ion cell production line is running at high speed, with intelligent robotic arms accurately grasping materials, blue and white cells flowing orderly along the production line, technicians closely monitoring screens and adjusting parameters in real time, finished products waiting to be shipped in the finished-goods warehouse, forklifts shuttling back and forth, and the entire line running at full capacity to guarantee delivery.
The project was invested and constructed by East Group in Linze County, Zhangye, Gansu. The production line was completed in January 2026, formally put into production in March, and on May 29, the first 2 GWh of sodium-ion cells were rolled off the line, filling the gap in the sodium-ion cell industry in Zhangye and the entire Northwest China region.
East Group (300376.SZ) is a power electronics and energy storage system enterprise listed in Dongguan, Guangdong, with businesses covering energy storage, photovoltaic, charging stations, UPS, and sodium/lithium cells. Linze County, under Zhangye of Gansu, has deepened cooperation with East since 2025, positioning sodium-ion batteries as a key direction for its new energy equipment manufacturing industry.
The report discloses that the project has cumulatively completed an investment of RMB 1 billion, achieved an output value of nearly RMB 1 billion, created more than 300 local jobs, and is currently accelerating the construction of China Huadian's (CHD) 300 MW energy storage system. Linze County implements a 'one enterprise one commissioner' point-to-point support mechanism for the enterprise, with full-process follow-up services from equipment commissioning and employment guarantee to approval procedures, ensuring the sodium-ion production line achieves 'built, produced and beneficial in the same year'.
