According to the Jinjiang Municipal People's Government official website on August 14 (report '50 Projects, Over RMB 22 Billion Investment! The Wave of Jin Merchants Returning Surges') and Quanzhou Net (Quanzhou Evening News) on August 17, local authorities rapidly delivered 8,300 square meters of factory space for Yingong Technology's Phase I sodium-ion battery project, with annual revenue expected to reach RMB 3 billion at full capacity. Separately, according to company disclosures, on August 17 the new sodium-ion battery production base project of Quanzhou Yinsu Qiwei New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.
Officially broke ground, with a planned construction period of about two months. The project is located in the Jinjiang area of Quanzhou's Nanyi High-tech Zone, with a total investment of RMB 1.5 billion, building a sodium-ion battery industrial base integrating R&D, production, testing, warehousing and logistics, with supporting R&D laboratories, product testing centers and warehousing logistics centers. Phase I leases 8,300 square meters of standard factory space at Nanyi Jinjiang International Core Innovation Port, planned to start production in Q4 this year; Phase II plans 50 mu of land, expected to start construction next year.
From a background perspective, Quanzhou Yinsu Qiwei New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. Was established on June 29, 2026 with registered capital of RMB 30 million, jointly invested by Jiangsu Yingong Technology Co., Ltd. And Zhangzhou Huawei Power Technology Co., Ltd., holding 70% and 30% respectively. Yingong Technology, founded in December 2023, focuses on anode-free sodium battery technology and has developed three cell series: high specific energy (Yingfeng), high power (Yingsu) and high safety (Yinghu). It previously developed an anode-free semi-solid-state sodium battery with energy density of 310Wh/kg and completed a hundred-million-yuan Pre-A+ round in July 2026. Huawei Power, a battery company founded in 1997, covers lead-acid, lithium and sodium batteries with annual capacity exceeding 40 million units, selling to over 140 countries and regions. The cooperation aims to inject Yingong's anode-free technology, Huawei Power's mass-production manufacturing capability and overseas market resources into the Jinjiang base.
Groundbreaking does not mean production has started; Q4 production is a planning target. The total investment of RMB 1.5 billion and RMB 3 billion full-capacity revenue are project/company-disclosed figures; the 8,300 square meters of factory space and RMB 3 billion revenue have been corroborated by the government website, while the groundbreaking date and total investment details come from company disclosures, and the project's capacity (GWh) scale is not specifically disclosed.
