Foreign media report (SodiumBatteryHub, UK energy storage outlet, republished by CNESA via 10jqka and In-en.com): According to the notice published by the Hebei Provincial Public Resources Trading Service Platform on August 13, 2026, the shortlist for the storage system equipment procurement (second round) of the Botou Zhike 100MW/400MWh independent energy storage station project in Hebei Province has been announced. Envision Energy Co., Ltd. Ranks first with a bid of RMB 235,186,204.06 (approximately RMB 0.588/Wh); Tianjin Blue Sky Solar Co., Ltd. Ranks second with a bid of RMB 237,760,000 (approximately RMB 0.5944/Wh); Shanghai Electric Power Transmission & Distribution Equipment Co., Ltd. Ranks third with a bid of RMB 235,520,000 (approximately RMB 0.5888/Wh). The tender project number is I1300000001146689001.
The Botou Zhike project plans a 100MW/400MWh independent energy storage station adopting a hybrid "LFP + sodium-ion" technical route, with 90MW/360MWh LFP storage and 10MW/40MWh sodium-ion storage, together with integrated battery units, PCS, BMS, fire protection and thermal management facilities, using a prefabricated-cabin plus plant layout. The station is located about 4 km from the Boying 220kV substation and is initially planned to connect via one 220kV transmission line. According to the tender notice, the scope covers all survey, design, equipment, materials and technical services related to both LFP and sodium-ion electrochemical storage systems; five companies participated in the bidding, with normalized unit prices ranging from RMB 0.5773/Wh to RMB 0.5944/Wh. Delivery requires the first batch of storage equipment by September 15, 2026 and full delivery by September 30, 2026.
A "shortlist announcement" is not equivalent to a final award, nor to contract execution; the final award, contract value and the actually delivered sodium-ion capacity still depend on the official award notice.
