According to a July 31 report by EnergyTrend, on July 28 the 10,000 t/y sodium-ion cathode material and supporting facilities project of Tongxing Haosheng (Yibin) New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. Received EIA approval. The project is located in Wangchang Industrial Park, Pingshan Town, Pingshan County, Yibin, Sichuan, and is invested by Tongxing Haosheng, a subsidiary of Tongxing Technology. Tongxing Technology previously disclosed plans to build a first-phase 20,000 t/y sodium cathode project in Pingshan with a total investment of about RMB 500 million.
This is a completed fact (EIA approval). The report adds that, per earlier disclosures, the first-phase 10,000 t/y capacity was expected to start production in October 2026 and reach full capacity in December 2026, and that the approved project corresponds to that first-phase capacity. The October/December timeline is a company plan, not accomplished production; EIA approval is only one prerequisite, followed by construction, installation, commissioning and customer qualification.
