SMM published its first-half sodium-ion cell market review on July 15 and said demand was moving from expectations toward orders. On July 16, CATL disclosed a planned 5GWh sodium-ion storage partnership with European integrator Alfen. On July 17, Easpring Material Technology said its sodium-ion cathode materials covered both polyanionic and layered-oxide routes.
The three disclosures concern market research, future storage deployment and materials development. The CATL-Alfen 5GWh figure is a cooperation plan, not completed delivery. Easpring’s two material routes do not establish equal sales volumes for each route.
