In the first half of 2026, the sodium-ion battery electrolyte market moved from a seasonal trough in the first quarter to higher output in the second, with year-on-year production growth remaining strong. A July 13 industry analysis by Shanghai Metals Market (SMM) said the increase largely followed the release of downstream orders. Production schedules remained volatile, and a consistently stable delivery pace had yet to emerge.
The report said electrolyte prices fluctuated little overall during the half. Raw-material costs provided support while downstream cell makers pressed for lower prices. Effective supplies of sodium hexafluorophosphate, NaFSI and NaODFB were becoming an important limit on electrolyte makers’ ability to expand deliveries.
