ESS Tech unveiled its Bridge modular sodium-ion battery storage system on July 8 for grid, data-center, critical-infrastructure and commercial customers. A standard ten-foot module stores 1.2MWh and can be combined to 4.8MWh. The company gives an operating range of minus 40°C to 50°C and a 20-year design life.
ESS previously partnered with Alsym Energy for sodium-ion cells and described nearly $1 billion in early customer opportunities for Bridge. That figure is potential business, not signed orders or recognized revenue.
