Blue Ocean Intelligent Equipment unveiled a sodium-ion range-extender mining truck in Beijing on July 10. The company described it as the first of its kind worldwide.
Chief Technology Officer Cai Youjian reported 90% battery capacity retention at minus 40°C, a 12.2-minute charge from 20% to 80%, and a discharge rate of 3C rated and 10C maximum. The company also reported more than 10,000 cycles and up to 90% fuel savings while descending. These figures came from the launch presentation; operating results in mines have yet to be demonstrated.
