Chen Liquan received China’s top science award at the national science awards ceremony in Beijing on July 8. On the same day, Zhongke Haina announced that its national headquarters and the Tangxun Lake Sodium-Ion Battery Research Institute would be based in Wuhan’s Jiangxia District. The company also disclosed plans for a 2GWh sodium-ion battery integration line.
The institute plans to work with Wuhan universities on solid-state sodium battery research. Zhongke Haina has proposed a solid-state battery line by 2030 and has engaged with Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle and China Three Gorges Group on cooperation. The 2GWh line remains a construction plan; no commissioning date was given.
