宁德时代回应钠电技术路线提问,钠电量产进度全面提速

钠电池网观察到近日有投资者在互动平台向宁德时代提问,咨询公司钠离子电池采用的技术路线细节。

6 月 18 日,宁德时代官方在投资者关系平台作出答复:公司是行业内率先推出钠离子电池的企业,目前正稳步推进钠离子电池在乘用车、商用车、换电、储能四大领域规模化落地;针对钠离子电池具体技术路线、产品参数等详细信息,建议投资者查阅公司对外公开资料。

宁德时代钠离子电池最新产业进展

宁德时代早在 2016 年启动钠离子电池研发,累计近百亿元研发投入,攻克硬碳产气、极片控水、正极晶格畸变、铝箔附着力四大量产核心难题。旗下第二代 “钠新(Naxtra)” 电芯能量密度可达 175Wh/kg,支持 5C 超快充,-40℃低温环境容量保有率超 90%,循环寿命最高可达 15000 次,热稳定性优异,针刺、挤压工况无起火爆炸风险。技术路线以层状氧化物正极搭配无烟煤基硬碳负极为主,兼顾储能场景聚阴离子方案,适配不同场景差异化需求。

公司已在国内多地建成多条可兼容钠离子电池的柔性产线与专属钠电生产基地,各项目建设、验收、投产时间清晰可查:

1.福建福鼎基地 25GWh 锂钠兼容柔性产线

该产线依托福鼎时代五期原有锂电厂房改造,2025 年 8 月底完成厂房主体竣工,2026 年 3 月完成阶段性设备验收,具备年产 25GWh 钠离子动力电池、锂离子动力电池双向柔性切换生产能力,可快速根据市场订单调整钠电、锂电产能配比,是 2026 年钠电小批量交付的核心产能支撑。

2.福鼎时代六期 40GWh 钠离子专属产能基地

2026 年 5 月 7 日该扩建项目正式完成环评公示,总投资 50 亿元,规划新建纯钠离子动力电池生产线,建成后新增 40GWh 钠电产能,项目整体建设周期 24 个月,叠加厂房调试、验收流程,预计 2028 年下半年全面投产,未来将承接长期大额储能钠电订单交付需求。福鼎基地改造柔性产线与新建专属产线合计规划 65GWh 钠电总产能,是全球规划规模最大的钠离子电池制造基地。

3.山东济宁储能配套电芯产线

济宁山东时代新能源基地 2022 年 7 月签约落地,总规划 160GWh 综合电池产能,分三期建设;2025 年 5 月一期 60GWh 产线正式投产,配套预留钠离子储能电芯柔性工位,2026 年 4 月二期产线全面建成,专门适配大容量集装箱储能钠电芯批量生产,主要辐射华北、华东储能客户订单,与福鼎基地形成南北产能互补布局。


工信部产业交流会上,宁德时代储能 CTO 对外明确交付节奏:依托现有福鼎 25GWh 柔性产线、济宁储能配套产线,2026 年 9 月将向海博思创等核心客户交付首批商用钠离子储能成套系统,2026 全年钠电产品达成 GWh 级别出货;全品类乘用车、储能、商用车钠离子电芯将于 2026 年底完成全线规模化量产,同步匹配前期签订的 3 年 60GWh 全球最大储能钠电供货订单产能需求。


Observed by Nacells.com, investors recently raised questions on interactive investor platforms regarding CATL’s technical routes for sodium-ion batteries.On June 18, CATL responded via its investor relations channel, stating that the company was one of the first enterprises to launch sodium-ion batteries in the industry. It is steadily scaling up the commercial application of sodium-ion batteries across four major sectors: passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, battery swapping and energy storage. For specific technical routes and product specifications of its sodium-ion products, investors are advised to refer to CATL’s official disclosures.

Latest Industrial Progress of CATL’s Sodium-ion Batteries

CATL launched systematic research and development of sodium-ion batteries back in 2016, with cumulative R&D investment approaching 10 billion RMB. Its R&D team has overcome four key mass-production bottlenecks, including gas generation in hard carbon electrodes, poor electrode sheet moisture control, lattice distortion of cathode materials and weak adhesion of aluminum current collectors.The company’s second-generation Naxtra sodium-ion cell delivers an energy density of 175 Wh/kg and supports ultra-fast charging at 5C rate. It retains over 90% of its rated capacity at an extreme low temperature of -40°C, and its longest-life energy storage variant achieves a cycle life of up to 15,000 times. The cells boast outstanding thermal stability, with no fire or explosion risks under nail penetration and extrusion abuse tests. CATL adopts a dual technical route: layered oxide cathodes paired with coal-based hard carbon anodes serve power applications, while polyanionic cathode materials are developed exclusively for energy storage to meet diversified scenario demands.CATL has built multiple lithium-sodium compatible flexible production lines and dedicated sodium-ion manufacturing bases across China, with clear timelines for construction, equipment acceptance and commissioning:

1.25 GWh lithium-sodium compatible flexible production line at Fuding Base, Fujian Retrofitted on the existing lithium-ion workshop of Phase V Fuding Times, the plant finished main construction at the end of August 2025 and passed phased equipment acceptance in March 2026. The line can switch flexibly between manufacturing lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries with an annual capacity of 25 GWh, enabling quick adjustment of production mix according to order volume. It acts as the core capacity to support small-batch sodium-ion deliveries in 2026.

2.40 GWh dedicated sodium-ion production base of Fuding Times Phase VI The expansion project completed environmental impact assessment public disclosure on May 7, 2026, with a total investment of 5 billion RMB. It will construct brand-new production lines solely for sodium-ion batteries, adding 40 GWh annual capacity after full operation. The whole construction cycle lasts 24 months, plus additional time for workshop commissioning and inspection, and full production is scheduled for the second half of 2028 to fulfill long-term large-volume energy storage orders. Combined with the retrofitted 25 GWh flexible line, Fuding Base plans a total sodium-ion capacity of 65 GWh, making it the world’s largest planned sodium-ion manufacturing complex.

3.Energy storage supporting cell production line in Jining, Shandong Signed in July 2022, Shandong Times New Energy Base in Jining has an overall planned comprehensive battery capacity of 160 GWh to be built in three phases. Its Phase I 60 GWh production line went online in May 2025 with reserved flexible stations for sodium-ion energy storage cells. Phase II was fully completed in April 2026, specially optimized for mass production of large-capacity sodium-ion cells used in containerized energy storage. It mainly serves energy storage clients in North and East China, forming a north-south complementary capacity layout together with the Fuding Base.

At an energy storage industry exchange meeting hosted by MIIT, CATL’s CTO of energy storage clarified the commercial delivery schedule. Relying on the existing 25 GWh flexible line in Fuding and the energy storage production line in Jining, CATL will deliver its first batch of commercial sodium-ion energy storage systems to key clients including Haibosichuang in September 2026, achieving GWh-level annual shipments of sodium-ion products within the year. All full-range sodium-ion cells for passenger vehicles, energy storage and commercial vehicles will complete full-scale mass production by the end of 2026, matching the capacity demand of its landmark 3-year, 60 GWh sodium-ion energy storage supply contract — the largest single sodium-ion commercial order worldwide to date.
